Paddy Power Poker Review
Paddy Power Poker, or as I like to call it, P Cubed, is the exclusive
online qualifier for the Irish Open. This alone, is a huge draw to all
those who are Irish. Paddy Power Poker also has satellites to other
events, as well, not just the Irish Open, which adds to the potential
popularity of this new member of the, it seems, ever expanding iPoker network.
Games at P Cubed are fairly loose, mainly because of the amount of
players that migrate over to the poker room after a while of playing the other
non-poker games, such as bingo, casino games, skill games, sports betting, and
more.
Since PlayTech runs the iPoker network, and consequentially, Paddy
Power Poker, you can expect a solid amount of traffic, even with the recent
banning of
looser than average, though, which is because of the migration to poker from
other games, as stated before.
The software runs great, which is again, probably the doing of
PlayTech. It contains solid functionality, as well as good graphics, and
quality stability and security. There are four different poker games
offered at P Cubed. These games are Hold'em, Seven-Card Stud Hi,
are available in both ring games and multi-table tournaments. You can
also find tables in the heads-up, full and shorthanded varieties. There
are three great features that are included in the software, as well. 3D
Avatars, which are a fun addition, player notes, which allow you to record
player's playing styles for future reference, and Collins' Column, which is
full of the hilarious musings of Len Collins, which almost force you to take a
break from the action to read them.
Overall, there are a lot of tournaments offered at Paddy Power, with
the earlier mentioned satellite ones, along with a lot of Sit 'N Go's,
freerolls, and a variety of multi-table tournaments. There are about
10,000 ring players are peak hours as of August 2008, and about 55,000
tournament players at peak hours as of August 2008. This means that you
should definitely be able to find a game to play. It also means that the
poker room isn't all too crowded, which is a good thing, but there are also are
enough people to say that Paddy Power gets solid traffic, which is also a good
thing.
With loose, juicy games, and good software that plays smoothly and
solidly, even though the games play on the slow side, It's tough to see how you
couldn't go wrong with Paddy Power. Especially if you enjoy a loose style
of play, or are aiming at getting into the Irish Open, or any live poker
event. And with traffic on the rise, you can expect more good things to
be happening at Paddy Power Poker in the near future.
